چکیده

We present the spectroscopic confirmation of brightest known gravitationally lensed Lyman break galaxy in Epoch Reionisation, A1703-zD1, through detection [C II] at a redshift z = 6.8269 +/- 0.0004. This source was selected behind strong lensing cluster Abell 1703, with an intrinsic L$_{UV}$ ~ L$^*$$_{z=7}$ luminosity and very blue Spitzer/IRAC [3.6]-[4.5] colour, implying high equivalent width line emission [O III]+H$\beta$. is reliably detected 6.1$\sigma$ co-spatial rest-frame UV counterpart, showing similar spatial extent. Correcting for magnification, A1703-zD1 broadly consistent local L$_{[CII]}$ - SFR relation. find clear velocity gradient 103 22 km/s across which possibly indicates rotation or ongoing merger. furthermore spectral scans no above 4.6$\sigma$ two unlensed galaxies EGS-CANDELS field 6.6 6.9. first time that NOEMA has been successfully used to observe 'normal' star-forming > 6, our results demonstrate its capability complement ALMA confirming Reionisation.

Resolved Spectroscopy of a Gravitationally Lensed L ∗ Lyman - break Galaxy at z ∼ 5

We exploit the gravitational potential of a massive, rich cluster at z = 0.9 to study the internal properties of a gravitationally lensed galaxy at z=4.88. Using high resolution HST imaging together with optical (VIMOS) and near-infrared (SINFONI) Integral Field Spectroscopy we have studied the rest-frame UV and optical properties of the lensed galaxy seen through the cluster RCS0224-002. Using...

Dust emission from the lensed Lyman break galaxy cB 58

We detect 1.2mm continuum emission from dust in the gravitationally lensed Lyman break galaxy MS1512+36-cB58. Our detected flux is surprisingly low: relative to local starburst galaxies, cB58 appears to produce somewhat less far-IR emission than its UV reddening predicts. After comparing several different estimates of the source’s dust content, we conclude that the apparent discrepancy is most ...

A Luminous Lyman-α Emitting Galaxy at Redshift z=6.535: Discovery and Spectroscopic Confirmation

We present a redshift z = 6.535 galaxy discovered by its Lyman-α emission in a 9180Å narrowband image from the Large Area Lyman Alpha (LALA) survey. The Lyman-α line luminosity (1.1×10 erg s) is among the largest known for star forming galaxies at z ≈ 6.5. The line shows the distinct asymmetry that is characteristic of high-redshift Lyman-α. The 2σ lower bound on the observer-frame equivalent w...

Using galaxy redshift surveys to detect gravitationally-lensed quasars

Gravitationally-lensed quasars can be discovered as a by-product of galaxy redshift surveys. Lenses discovered spectroscopically in this way should require less observational effort per event than those found in dedicated lens surveys. Further, the lens galaxies should be relatively nearby, facilitating a number of detailed observations that are impossible for the more common high-redshift lens...

Spitzer Observations of the Z = 2.73 Lensed Lyman Break Galaxy, Ms1512-cb58

We present Spitzer infrared (IR) photometry and spectroscopy of the lensed Lyman break galaxy (LBG), MS1512-cB58 at z = 2.73. The large (factor ∼ 30) magnification allows for the most detailed infrared study of an L∗UV (z = 3) LBG to date. Broadband photometry with IRAC (3-10 μm), IRS (16 μm), and MIPS (24, 70 & 160 μm) was obtained as well as IRS spectroscopy spanning 5.5-35 μm. A fit of stell...
